World Champion Lindsay De Vylder Thrills the Crowd at Ghent’s Kuipke
On October 19, Lindsay De Vylder crowned himself world champion in the omnium after delivering "the race of his life." His world title in Ballerup, Denmark, was the culmination of years of sacrifice dedicated to track cycling. The rider from Anzegem was celebrated in Ghent and proudly showcased his rainbow jersey to the crowd. His Arena Fast bike, adorned with the jersey’s colors, also drew admiration.
For an entire week, De Vylder and Robbe Ghys seemed poised to win the 83rd edition of the Six Days. However, in an electrifying Madison, the duo faced relentless attacks and ultimately had to concede after a decisive move by Benjamin Thomas and Fabio Van den Bossche. They finished second, just one lap down, but with the highest points total of all participants.
