About Omnium Fast

Our engineers developed the Omnium Fast with a focus on bunch races on the track. The Omnium Fast builds on the success of the Arena Fast with an adjusted geometry, specifically designed for optimal maneuverability and responsiveness in a peloton. With aerodynamic tube shapes, a newly developed handlebar, and flip chips in the fork, the Omnium Fast is the most suitable bike for every event in the omnium: the scratch race, the tempo race, the elimination race, and the points race.

Collaboration with Belgian Cycling

Thanks to the collaboration with Belgian Cycling, the Belgian track riders were able to provide their feedback on the bike. In the long run, all these riders will be racing on Ridley track bikes. With Lindsay De Vylder, the Omnium Fast has an ideal ambassador. De Vylder became world champion in this discipline last autumn. Champions deserve the very best bike for every discipline.

Geometry for team events

In team events, where wave movements and impulsive actions of riders determine the pace, responsiveness is essential. The Omnium Fast is designed for this with a geometry that responds quickly and confidently to unexpected movements in the peloton. Compared to the Arena Fast, the Omnium Fast has a steeper head tube angle, specifically designed for optimal agility and responsiveness in a peloton.

New handlebars

The new handlebars of the Omnium Fast are cutting-edge and aerodynamic. The distance between the outermost points of the handlebars is exactly 35 cm, the minimum allowed according to UCI regulations. The handlebar width at the top is 30 cm, while at the bottom in the drops it increases to 33 cm (center-center). The reach of the handlebars is 105 mm, and the drop is 120 mm.

On top of the handlebars, the rider finds additional "horns" that allow them to adopt a very aerodynamic position. This is similar to the position on the brake hoods of a road bike. A rough coating improves grip on the handlebars. All of this provides the perfect balance between aerodynamics and control.

Aerodynamic tube shapes

The tube shapes take advantage of the UCI rules relaxed in 2022. These allow profiles to have an 8-to-1 ratio instead of the previous 3-to-1. This means developers can make the tubes longer and narrower. Additionally, the connection between the top tube, head tube, and down tube is maximally filled out.

Flip Chips

The Arena Fast is equipped with flip chips in the fork. This allows the rider to adjust the handling of the bike to their preferences. These flip chips enable the rider to vary the fork rake and trail. When the rider places the flip chips in the forward position, the trail is shorter, and the handling becomes more responsive. With a larger trail in the rear flip chip position, the handling becomes more forgiving. These flip chips are easy to move, allowing the rider to quickly switch between different options.
