FatPigeon conquers Italian Alpine giants: ‘Grifn RS passed the test with flying colours’

Many cycling enthusiasts train a whole year to climb the Stelvio, the Gavia or Mortirolo, but FatPigeon goes one step further. He conquered these three epic climbs in one ride during a cycling week in the Italian Alps. Immediately, it was also his first test on the Grifn RS. ‘This bike is ideally suited for long comfortable rides on the road and where these routes normally stop at a dirt strip, on this Grifn RS you can just keep going!’

Nol from FatPigeon lost his mother to a brain tumour in 2009. ‘I felt helpless and was determined to raise money for charity a year later. In 2010, I took part in Alpe d'HuZes, which shares its name with the Dutch foundation. That's where my love for cycling was born. On Dutch Mountain, I met numerous people with similar stories. It was an emotional ride, but the positive mindset and energy of the others propelled me to the top.

Fifteen years later, cycling is part of Nol's daily life. ‘It has become my life and my religion. On the bike, I discover the world, become the strongest version of myself and many friendships have already been built. During the Stelvio di Kika and the Giro di Kika, I met my old cycling friends again and noticed that deep inside the fire is still burning. It was the emotional highlight of an unforgettable cycling trip.

Lighter and faster!

Nol himself was working on some epic route through the Alps. ‘The slopes quoted are known for their particularly steep sections, so it was a good thing that the Grifn RS is even faster and lighter than its predecessor. It was a successful test: uphill, but also downhill I felt I could go even faster. The advantage of the bike is that you don't have to stop anywhere because of the state of the road. The Grifn RS goes everywhere, just as the product developers promised.
