Jelle Geens crowns himself World Champion Ironman 70.3
As a Limburger, Jelle is a natural ambassador for our brand. This year, he competed in the Olympic triathlon on our Falcon RS, and then shifted his focus to the 70.3 Ironman. That his condition was on point was already proven in late October with his victory in the T100 Triathlon in Las Vegas.
His performance in Taupo was on a different level. Jelle came out of the water in tenth place and rode smoothly in the lead group on his Dean Fast. Local favorite Hayden Wilde seemed to be on his way to victory but collapsed. In the final kilometers, Jelle overtook Wilde, and with more than a minute's lead, he took his time to celebrate his victory.
Double for Michael Vanthourenhout
We were also successful abroad. Marek Konwa won in his home country and now leads the win standings. In the Coupe de France, Noémie Garnier made a splash. The young rider from Team Guevel Roadborn scored two consecutive wins in La Ferté Bernard and narrowly missed the overall victory by just three points.
